It's great here so far, but people have already told us that it was busy and load last weekend and expecting more this coming one. It's tough life here in paradise, .... The things you have to put up with

Elphinstone (QLD) - Lake Elphinstone is a natural lake which once supported the town of Elphinstone - long since disbanded. The lake lies within the Nebo Shire approximately 92 kilometres west of Mackay and can be accessed via Sutter Developmental Road on your way to Glenden. Facilities beside the lake allow camping and fishing for those wanting to get away from it all for a few days. Water skiing is allowed in one section of the lake when water height allows. The lake attracts an abundance of birdlife making bird watching a popular activity with visitors. Eight kilometres long by one kilometre wide. People wishing to camp at Lake Elphinstone need to be self sufficient, there is one shower block and no charge applies for camping. For busy periods contact Nebo Shire Council who operate the lake. Animals are allowed. Generators are allowed - oh my, HOW they are allowed.
cheers from Paul

We were there on Tuesday and Wednesday. Left Thursday morning. Great spot. It looks like they are building a new amenities block. We were told it will have solar hot water for showers. There is already a few high poles in with a solar panel on each for lighting but they are not working yet. We were told it gets a bit noisy and busy on the weekends.

Nebo Shire Council has not existed since amalgamation in 2007. The lake is now managed by Isaac Regional Council. There are council offices in Nebo, St Lawrence, Clermont, Dysart and Moranbah.
We arrived here today, it's a lovely spot but looks like it is already getting busy for the weekend, is anybody else here or planning to arrive soon.
Hi Paul and Hazel,
next location on my agenda and expect to be there late next week, hopefully Paul (my van) will make it there soon.
