Do you want to save on water out in the bush? Well use a little capful of Metho. In every wash , cleans and disinfects all in one go , no need to use lots of water, Pots come out shinning and food stuff comes off easy , love it !

babcia, never tried the citric acid trick so thanks for that one.
was told by a person what was best to ginger up her cheap grog (metho) yetch!
so.......if I can't get the pots clean might be reduced to using the meths to some other purpose!

For safety from belly bugs rinse with a bit of bleach in the water, rack to dry and never use a tea towel.
2.5ml (1/2 teaspoon) of unscented household bleach to the litre of cold water. If you have hot rinse water, you could halve the bleach.

If you're near a beach, a handful of wet sand is a good scourer and rinse in a dish of seawater....
Or like I saw one GN do, if there is a shallow stream running into the ocean a handful of wet sand again and then rinse in the stream....
