I just replaced the 240V element in our Dometic 2350 3 way fridge and found that it was very difficult to remove and replace. The element seemed to be very tight in the chimney tube and took a great deal of wriggling back and forth, with considerable upward force, to remove it. I expected it to be a snug fit, but not this tight. Is this normal?

Yep thats the way they are made as the heat from the element is transferred to the boiler tube by heat transfer through the mounting tube..
I have had them soo friggen tight I have had to destroy them to get them out..
