My wife and i are traveling from Adelaide to Perth WA in mid August but returning in Four weeks due to work commitments. I am after as much info as possible of free camp sites on the way over. looking at doing between 600 to 800 klms a day. First time over the West and so looking forward to it. all help appreciated. regards

Welcome Arthur,
Suggest you buy the Camps Australia Wide book (Camps7) if you don't already have it, it also has Hema maps in it so you won't need to buy a separate map book. You can buy it online or through book and camping stores. Google Camps Australia Wide for more info.
As you have limited time, the wildflower circuits (say south/east of Geraldton) around August and the south/west a bit later may suit the time you have over here. See this link;
Welcome from us too Arthur. Enjoy the forum and all it has to offer.

Welcome from us too. Hope you don't find those distances too tiring. Try and make a few days of restful staying put too.

If you click on Search on the dark blue line above, they when a box appears type in Nullabor you will find some more info there, not sure if this will work, here is one I had come up, or try it yourself (also for any other subject), click on;

you could be in time for the whales at The Bight, when you get to Ceduna go into town and outside the tourist office will be a sign saying how may are being seen at the moment, there could be more on your way home, best time Sept
