According to the general plan we left Baralaba Monday morning and set off for Bedford Weir taking it easy arrived at lunch time. Was able to collect the table sent to Blackwater enroute as well as stock up on food for the next week. The place is as previously except that the caretaker and shop are no longer operating as they used to.
Everything working out as usual and we now have quite a group here, Poppy Sore Eyes (Paul and Hazel) were here when we arrived. Shortly after myvan (Paul) arrived so there now is Rover (Rod) and myself and Nitaya whom we met at Wuruma and is travelling with us.
The weather is not so good today a bit cool and generators are running all round, my batteries are holding up but unless the sun shines tomorrow I will need the generator to start up for the first time since Wuruma. Not the best photo conditions but will take more later and add them, there are some in the link from my last visit.
Was able to install the new table on the side of the bus by the door without too many problems and currently has coffee making ingredients sitting on it. Paul is heading for Emerald tomorrow for a trip and has invited me to go with him, suits me 'cos I want to get to the PO in Emerald to collect a DVD of Mrs Brown's Boys that Cruising Cruze (John) has sent on for me. John
Went for a day trip to Emerald and on to Fairburn Dam for a look around, apparently you used to be able to free camp there but now there is a holiday resort with no doubt high camping prices. Found some camping shops in Emerald and bought a 4ft folding table at Wallaby Jack's, got tables laid on now.
Called in to see the Dig Tree at Comet it is shown as a day stop on Camps6 #329 and marks the spot where Leichardt marked a tree and buried provisions there for others from his expedition to find later. Yesterday Paul rounded up firewood and we had a big fire in half a 44 gallon drum left there for that purpose. John

All the comforts of home now John and it looks a very nice spot there. Keep on enjoying the playground and see you if you get up in the Townsville area.

Doug the plan is to get up to Townsville within the month.
I am looking forward to catching up with Paul again, he has a great taxi service even though occasionally the passenger has to do the driving.
Will be posting about Bundoora later having decided not to camp at Sapphire and now are at the dam.
