I've just posted in the free camps section about this, there has been a misconception that dogs are not allowed at this lovely camp. Councillor Deb Palmer confirmed that the "no animals in the park" sign refers to the playground and picnic area where the power points are, but dogs are welcome in the travellers rest area (just clean up please) and in fact she said that they are planning to put in more power outlets (coin operated though) and extend the maximum stay rules!.
So for those of you who have a 4 legged friend with you, Benarkin is a great place to stop. The store sells some yummy home-made stuff and the hot showers are great too
Cheers, Marianna

We had a wonderful stay at Blackbutt Showgrounds (in the same area) with our dog. Fabulous rural and mountain views. It is a short walk to town.

If you like Benarkin you'll probably like Linville too. Bit more spacious and away from the hwy. Cheers

Ahhh. Saw Linville on the map but didn't venture out that way.
Bound to be back that way before too long. Must remember that.
Cheers
