Has anybody noticed we now have a new heading for "Rating" on each thread?
How/where do you rate a thread? I'd like to give the Pick This Place thread a higher rating than 2 stars which is currently showing.

Click on the stars in the top right hand side below the 'Start a new topic' & 'Reply' buttons. If you want it to be 2 stars click on the 2nd star across & so on.

Gday...
Never noticed this before ... so, how does one "rate" a thread?
... and I agree - Pick this Place should be more than two stars

Ah yes, found it. thank you Woolly. Its on the right of the top line with the thread title.
EDIT.. Help, we need more raters! The machine seems to Average the number of stars people rate it, its still only 2.5! .

When using the ipad an I the only one with fat fingers? The tiny little stars are differcult to select correctly, just as changing from page to page is. Don't mean to complain it's just an ipad thing.

Have you tried the two finger zoom? I use it often to get the little things bigger.....I am talking iPad folks. Getting in first before someone else does

Same for me ... I see the extra column in the 'general forum main page .... but no stars, none within the actual thread either.

These are the rating stars that you should be seeing:
I am currently using Google Chrome Had trouble with what I assume to be the Flash Player with Mozilla a few months ago, so I changed to Chrome.

If you right-click the SWF file and choose "Save", then this should allow you to save the file to your hard drive, irrespective of whether your browser can play it. If you can't save the file, then this would suggest that something is blocking the sparkimg.com domain.

I'm sorry for your Nuffin RL. The stars are only visible after you open a thread,,, does that help?

OK, next question. I tried clicking on stars for another thread, the machine said "Thanks for rating this topic" but the star rating doesn't show. ??

I have now noticed that the 'stars' appear sometimes ... on the thread before I open it .. and also sometimes after I open it.
Like you said - a couple of times when they have been there and I click on a 'star', it has said "Thanks for rating this topic" .. but other times nothing happens ... and the ratings don't seem to "update" either.
OH well, it will all work out in the end I guess .. I'll just sit and patiently watch with interest
cheers - John

Can you provide a link to the topic?
Edit: It appears that the problematic threads are random. Is it possible that the page is being rendered from the copy in cache? If so, does the page display correctly after it is refreshed? FWIW, my browser (Opera) uses the F5 key for refresh.
Edit #2: When I visit a new thread, all 5 stars are dim. If I rate the thread, then I get a "Thank you" message but no stars. I refresh the page and I can then see all 5 stars. In the present case 3 stars are lit while the 4th is partially lit. The rating is 3.53.

I give up.
No stars for me ... but I don't care. Of no particular interest to me.
I'll just sit on the sidelines until the program is fixed.

I know I'm dumb, but why the need to rate a thread?.....I read those which have headings that sound interesting.
Good Luck.

I'm sure those stars have been there for a long time. I always wondered what they were and what do you do with them.
I see no reason to rate a topic, like Denis.
Posting on a topic seems much more appropriate to me.

Well, then that confirms that there is some kind of content blocker in place. Sorry, but I don't know where to go from here other than to try searching the Internet.

I agree with Denis and HappyWanderer the number of replies for some is a good enough rating and others seeking help or advice wouldn't warrant rating.
