Hi Vic
Grey roamer is pretty spot on with the bitumen content might be bit more at the Mullewa end at least up to the Tallering Peak mine but certainly not sealed all the way. Our caravan club did a run last year ( I didn,t go ) to Murchison Roadhouse and there were no major complains about the road .They have had good rains over Anzac day weekend and proably coped a bit out of this weekend so check with the Murchson shire on the road condition if looking to do it anytime soon.

Yep we were through there last year in September towing the Avan Cruiseliner.
Good wide well maintained Dirt road. In fact we have, over the years done that route with a Toyota Lite Ace in1991, Toyota Hi Ace in 2006, And now towing an Avan Cruiseliner we have been over it twice in the last 3 years.
The Murchison Settlement Road house has a reasonably new campsite behind it. With good facilities for a remote CP.

I read on one of the links that the Murchison Settlement (Oasis) Road House has cheap fuel due to some government subsidy or something so that is good to know. Thanks for the feedback.

There,s a new caravan park at Gascoyne junction, replacing the one that got washed away in the 2010 floods. the roads were open last we checked, but things change quickly, there was quite a bit of rain out that way recently. The country looks lovely, so green!
Safe travels Vic, hope your new van works well for you.

No need to be jealous Bryan, your time will come when you can spend longer on the road, no fish out that way, LOL !
Thanks Gerty, I will check the road situation when I get to Mullewa and if too bad will go via Geraldton, hopefully I won't have to.
Thanks for the info on the cp at Gascoyne Junction, I believe there is a new one at the Murchison Roadhouse as well so that is good although I will be free camping as much as possible.
Planning on leaving Monday now, I see more rain forecast for Perth next week, hope it doesn't go too far north....
After some info on the route Mullewa to Carnarvon via Murchison Roadhouse and Gascoyne Junction.
Apparently the road is now fully sealed for that route, but would like some feedback from anyone who has done it please.
Thanks
Vic
Found these two interesting reports on this route, together with photo's.
One by a traveller towing a Jayco Penguin campervan and another by a cyclist (who made some slight deviations), see;
