A warning to people planning to travel north for the winter in WA... quite a few roads are closed along the west Pilbara and Gascoyne region. Roads into national parks have been closed too, but aren't listed here.
We are currently at Carnarvon where it is raining (again), planning to go to Coral Bay in a couple of days if we can.

Hope you are enjoying warmer weather than it is at home Gerty. Please don't get washed away. There's a big wet coming to WA by the look of the weather forecast tonight - but you may be far enough north to miss the worst.

Hi NeilnRuth, its been pretty wet at home too I believe! It looks as if most of the current rain band will be to the south, but cant be sure about anything!

Yes, we had yet another flooded creek in our back yard in April while we were in the Central West. Only a few mm since though but more in your area.

Keep safe Mr and Mrs GD and also over there on the east coast. Please don't let it all float away Ruth, I might be over there later this year.
The talk here in the tropics is preparation for bush fire season, just around the corner.

Had an interesting little trip to Coral Bay... (a day early due to a booking mix-up in our favour)
Checked that the road was still open this morning, yep! Off we went, turned off onto the Coral Bay- Exmouth road, to be confronted by a bloke putting out the "Road Closed" sign. Flooding he said. the river had risen again.
So we chucked a U-ie and headed to Coral Bay via Burkett road which took over 2 hours extra, but all is well, we're here safely.

Check before you leave.
