I was rudely awaken by the first Southerly buster of the year, which blew the portable sat dish off the vehandah with a crash. It blew at up to 60 knots here on Magnetic island. So, I thought I would go down to check the charter boat which is anchored in Horseshoe bay, at first light. Had a bit of a shock- no boat to be seen. Then I get a call from a yachty who says its over by the rocks on thenthern side of the bay. Mad rush to get tinny in water, and roar over to boat, which is about 100m off the reef.Got onboard with some difficulty(its blowing a gale, and rough), and started the motor and retrieved the anchor, which had a rusty 4 gallon drum stuck on the sharp end.Cutting the story short, I motored over near the beach, and put 2 ANCHORS out and reversed them in.A great way to start a Saturday morn. The only good thing is there wasn't any damage.Oh, and the kangaroos beat the kiwis in a very entertaining game. Oh for the quiet life. Bill

Although not as strong Bill it was nice for a mexican to be woken up by a cool wind change. It was also nice to have my first shower without being still wet after I dried the body beautiful Humidity has dropped as well, GOOD. I will look at it as respite.
The forecast is saying for a few cooler (not cold to me) nights during the coming week. Bring it on (from a mexican of course)

15.7C in the house at the mo (8.30am) and I reckon that's cold! Worse outside though. Cloudy too. I'm wearing my thermals. Glad you managed to retrieve your boat in one piece, Bill.
