Hooray! The ‘friendly forum’ where so much knowledge is so willingly shared has just welcomed its 8,000th member ... and it continues to go from strength to strength. Despite the growing numbers, it is fantastic to see that the forum has – by and large – remained an incredibly welcoming and constructive place to be. Our reputation for hosting lively discussions that are laced with friendliness, humour and a sense of fun is entirely down to you, our wonderful members. Thanks to you all.

If it wasn't for this forum, there are a lot of us who would not be doing what we are right now. Thank you Cindy.
I have to say thank you to all my friends I have met since joining, you have all made my world.
As I travel around Australia with this group, Jules and Billeeee, Solo Steve, msg, and Ame25, I am having the most wonderful time.
I am so glad we had Greens Lake to get us together in the beginning and set our course for an incredible lifestyle.

Mega thanks to Cindy for providing the opportunity to mingle with and learn from so many great members. Already met one (Sheba) and I haven't even left the back yard yet! Looking forward to finally hitting the road and meeting more of you in person.
Happy and safe travels to all.

Hi Cindy, it has been a few weeks since being online (house-sitting etc) and now I find the gang has breached the 8000 mark top stuff and congratulations to you and yours. We are heading off on Monday after spending 4 weeks at Coominya tending to 12 miniature horses, 4 ankle-biting doggies, a few colourful parrots and one noisy rooster. Their parents went the Florida for a month - back on Sunday. Travelling to Adelaide for another house sit in mid June via Cairns, Mt Isa and Uluru. cheers Terry

Ahh - about to play the devils advocate here .... again!! When I looked at the members listing - all xxx hundred pages of it, I noted that included in the 8000 members are lots that have been members since day one but not posted at all or only a couple of times int he early days of their membership. Would it not be more realistic to exclude members that have not posted for so many years, for example, a member who joined in (for example) 2006 and posted once in 2006 and never since ...... should he be included in stats? Granted, some of these may just be lurkers - members and non members, but some may no longer travel or may have lost interest but not thought to cancel their account.
Notwithstanding the above, this forum serves a purpose and provides much needed information and a type of camaraderie that has become reflective of our generation of travelers! Has that redeemed me??????
Well done Cindy!
