WE ARE HAVING LATELY A LARGE AMOUNT OF LEAKS FROM THE HOSE SPLITTING OR PIN HOLING
SPOKE TO JAYCO IN NOWRA TODAY HE WAS PUZZLED ,SOMETIMES WHEN IT SPLITS IT IS LIKE A STANLEY KNIFE CUT ,OTHER TIMES IT IS A SMALL PIN HOLE
CAN IT BE A MALFUNCTION IN THE BUILT IN PRESSURE REGULATOR IN THE FILLER ,OR IS THERE INFERIOR PIPE ,LOOK ALIKE BLUE/ RED PIPING USED BY THE MANUFACTURER
NEARLY AT THE STAGE TO RIP IT ALL OUT AND START AGAIN , WOW THINK OF ALL THE J/G JOINERS I,LL HAVE LOL !!
THANKS ALL ,SAFE TRAVELS

Sounds like defective piping to me,,, shouldn't split,,, we have had over 90PSI in ours in QLD,,, I didn't believe the pressure - I think it was in Mt Isa or thereabouts 4 years ago.
Our 12v pump is about 60PSI cut off pressure.

I'm with Baz, it should take all the pressure that a water supply gives.
depending on the age of the van I would hope that Jayco would know about the batch of faulty pipe and be prepared to do something about it..

thanks for the feedback everyone , actually it isnt a jayco van it is a van from w.a manufacturer , wondering if there was cheap knock off j/g pipe out there or ????
agree with pressure , shouldnt be , same hose blew last night again , right at the joiner we put in , the piece looks like a fracture ,cut , interesting the original fittings have a sleeve inside the push and pull collar , all of the fitttings you buy of the shelve dont , wondering why
thanks grae

Had a number of unexplained leaks. Just like you, we asked if it was an inferior quality pipe. All answers seem to point to the fact that there is only one type of pipe. Go figure.

Hi grae
Those little red circlips are sold separate ,about 50 cents each,as far as your tubing goes if it was me I would replace that section with new tube .

I recently replaced all the John Guest hot and cold pipes recently due leaks and used their black pipe for both hot and cold - caravan place I went to said that was all they used. It has John Guest printed on it. Some places apparently use air hose!
Got rid of all corners/joins etc by re-routing hose around corners so now we have a minimum of joins.
Good Luck.

a heads up for all we were very impressed by the general manager of john guest , i googled , and found their web site , sent a inquiry last night , 9 am this morning had the general manager on the phone wanting to know more , now the thing to look for is the crux , every mt of pipe will have their name on it , if it dosent it is a cheaper knock off
interestingly ,some spare hose i have bought in the past to use as emergency repairs , none of it was john guest !
the good part of this story is jg asked for us to do one thing and that was to inform the caravan manufacturer of our problem and suggest a immediate change in choice of materials they use , which we did , the new owners of the van manufacturer are well aware of the problems with other inferior brands of pipe , i think with mine there is a break down in structural integrity as it gets older , the end result john guest is supplying us with what we need to replace all our pipe work ,a big thank-you to them , apparently when a jg pipe does blow there teco,s say it exhibits a volcano effect where the leak will occur

How good is that, maybe you should start a new thread with a title something like "Thumbs up for John Guest Hose after sales service"

Sounds like the same guy I spoke to about connectors and tubing for my home brew setup. I only needed a few connectors and wasn't even using their pipe, but beer supply tubing, and he was great with lots of information.
