Well - after several months of research, checking reviews, visiting dealerships and listening to everyone's thoughts, we have just about decided to purchase a 2014 Talvor Hayman motor home - C-class with slide out bed and dinette. Anyone out there have one - would appreciate any thoughts before proceeding. The 3 finalists on the list up to yesterday were the Avida Esperence, Avan Ovation and the Talvor.

I had not heard of the Talvor so it forced me to my friend Mr Google. I found this and thought it may be of interest to you - and others who are unaware of the brand/ model.
G'day John ...... yes this was one of the various reviews we read and to be honest each review just reinforced our decision - and if the only negative issue the reviewer could come up with was the number of different keys needed, then, I think we can live with that. Of course, you will always get people who have justifiable complaints against manufacturers and Talvor are not exempt - I guess, that is why you go through the research process.
The 3 vans we liked were whittled down to 1 - the Avida Esperence we felt overpriced for the market and we were also concerned about several negative comments regarding the service provided by the dealer. The workmanship on the Avan whilst acceptable, was not what you would expect for the pricetag, and when we visited the dealer, we were just ignored and no rep came near us even though we spent a fair bit of time inspecting several vans and walking around. The Talvor ticked all the boxes - workmanship, design and layout, manufactured in QLD, dealer service. Talvor also build motorhomes for Apollo Rentals in both Australia and NZ - all in all, although not a well known brand like Jayco, they are gaining a place in the market.

The Talvor has the Alko chassis which is very light. Don't expect to put a tow bar on the rear. We looked at Talvor, Paradise, Avida, Jayco but decided on a Sunliner...better bang for buck. Talvor more suited to the hire motor home market. Advised that Talvor are flat packing their units in from the USA and assembling in Oz.

Hi Chaslib. I'm currently choosing between the exact same options as you. The Hayman is 20-30k cheaper and 3 years plus newer. Esperance I'm looking at around 130k for a 2010 model or 110k for a 2013 Hayman. I'm wondering what you ended up buying.

My stepson works for Talvor has done for 5 years. they are ok but even with family discount i will never buy one as they moved there manufacturing to The USA and employ Mexicans at $8 us an hr put 35 aussies out of work they just assemble then here now the same for there caravans
