What about putting a bottle of that, I think called "Milton" baby bottle wash, fill with water, leave for a while then drain out. I have read here or elsewhere someone doing that.

Milton is a sterilising agent. It won't help.
There are enzyme treatments that will help.
Best plan is empty it within 24 hours. It on;y becomes a problem if you store it.
Cheers,
Peter

Like Peter said, we try not to store grey water also..
if we do, we drop it either into a bucket and dispose of it or let it run out onto a grassed area daily..
To get your tank clean again try some Nappysan or the like, if that doesn't work I would be putting some pool chlorine into it and filling it with water for a couple of hours..
Others might have some better ideas..

I would give generic nappisan a try, if it works with black water should help with grey water, about a lid full everyday just flushed down the sink with the wash up water.
Cheers

Our grey water goes through out marine toilet, so we don't have any problem with it smelling. The black water tank has a simple venturi breather which is opened when we are on the move and any fumes or smells disappear. What you put into your waste tanks determines whether you get smells and fumes or not. So we stick to natural products and as our diets don't contain any animal products, additives or crap, the grey water tank never smells. Same with black water, what you put in is what you get out in fumes and smell. For cleaning, we only need fresh warm water and that's it.
