That's a rip-off Bill.
It seems that if you live any distance from a depot, you pay extra for delivery.
Mention any Island and up go the costs.
The fuel costs here in W.A. fluctuate every week, one can save up to 15 Cpl as a rule, by buying their weekly supply on a Wednesday as it usually jumps up in price on a Thursday, then slowly comes down over the following week.
I have noticed that fuel costs seem to go up and stay high just ahead of a Public holiday, just a coincidence you think ????

Well as far as I am concerned, the fuel industry is totally guilty of PRICE FIXING. A SOON AS ONE GOES UP THEY ALL FOLLOW. MIND YOU THE SAME THING HAPPENS WHEN THE PRICE GOES DOWN .WHY IS THIS SO. IF TODAY YOU ARE SELLING AT SAY $1.40 PER l. WHY FOLLOW THE MADDING CROWD, within hours of the the change, and increase your price. I guess that they can all read the smoke signals.
IF MY MEMORY IS CLEAR THEN SOME YEARS AGO VIZY BOARD AND AMCOR WE FOUND GUILTY OF PRICE FIXING AND THEY EACH COPPED MILLIONS OF $$$ IN FINES.
My view is that this industry is in need of a great shake up.Especially Woolworths and Coles division. ( Ooops!!! sorry re caps.)
Why would the Independant operators want to follow the big two ( W&C). They should be sticking it up then.
Maybe the big oil refineries are controlling the price. And if you step out of line... they stop your supply. I do not know the answer, but the Government should get of is big fat A%$# and start to check this problem on behalf of the consumers. But they do not appear to worry to much about you and me.

We did abit of sleuthing , and found out that they sell 25000ltrs in a week here.We then rang the fuel company, and they said that we get no discount as we don,t buy enough . The wholesale price is $1.45 a ltr, and adding the barge fare adds 5c a ltr. If they are charging $1.85 a ltr, then someone is making a lot of money.$7500 a week, and that's just on ulp.Nice if you can get it. Bill
