Had a little mishap in the caravan...took out the kitchen window and dented panelling above it!
Insurance is coming to the party so that is good....
Question is...does anyone know of caravan repairers in Melbourne that they have had good experience with?
Would like someone to come to us in caravan park to assess damage. Packing up to go and get assessed and then coming back to park and setting up again doesn't appeal.
We did get a guy from AAA caravan repairs out here. Chatty guy but getting him to sort out the insurance company etc is dragging out! Got to wonder how efficient he will be at fixing caravan if his correspondence with me so far is crap! Anyone dealt with them before? Can recommend anyone else in Melbourne? Cheers!

Gday...
I would contact your insurer and have them nominate a repairer they use/recommend ... or perhaps a couple.

Rocky...I did but the company they suggested were fully booked. Didn't have anyone around to assess caravan and wouldn't come out to us to assess it.

Gday...
This is a broad generalisation ... but over the past four or five years I have found it very difficult to get "tradies" to actually come out and quote for work .. and then to give a "firm time" for doing the job, should they have finally come out for the quote.
We are supposed to be in such "hard times" but "tradies" and similar repair businesses seem to have so much work they can't seem to fit in any more - or you have to wait for months to get something done.
I don't know why one would not respond quickly neither do I know how you could get one to respond quickly. I know of none in Melbourne to refer you to either.
Perhaps, as a wild thought, your insurer is not "well liked" by the repairer/s.

Buffy .For what its worth from someone that still sub contracts to the c/van mobs you will be hard pressed to get anyone to make a "house call" for a quote as they all seem to be very busy .If you are on the northen side of Melb you would not have to go far . Cheers

Hi buffy61, I use a guy in Rosebud and he is very good. He builds vans to order but will do repairs. his phone number 59821140 and company name is Sea Breeze Caravans. Just to put it out there I have no connections with this company.
all the best

We had caravan repairs done at Advantage Caraven Repairs last year. They were recommended to us by the manufacturer of our van.
