This is the first part of a series of short fictional essays I wrote. They are based around an older surfer who comes back to the beach of his youth to honor an old friend.

Thanks for that. I really like comments on what I have written. I think you may be the first female who has commented. (I have been posting it on a surfing website)
Attached is part 3. There is quite a bit of surfing jargon in it and I am happy to 'translate' if required. Hang in there though, as the following parts are easier for non surfers to follow. cheers
