looking at buying a portable fridge freezer to take with us on our travels. Can't make up our minds whether to buy an Engel or a Bushman. Can anyone tell us which is better? lesstevo
Have had Engels forever. 8 in all as we used to hire them.
For simplicity & longevity they are no 1

We agree with Foz, we have 2 at present. One for extra freezer space, and the other one for keeping the beverages cold.

I am on my 2nd waeco and have only once blown the 1 amp fuse.
The 1st one was still going strong when we sold the slide on.
gypsynolmate: That is a great idea having one for a designated freezer,and another for the fridge.

Have had an Engel since 1981. did 2 years as office fridge, travelled as freezer in various boats, thrown in & out of the backs of various vehicles. Starting to look a bit tatty but runs just like it did 30 years ago. If someone stole it I would buy another without looking at anything else. bought a Waeco cooler / heater box - died after 2 years. says it all.
