I just love this life, and the things that it is teaching me and has taught me. Today's lesson.
The house batteries were getting down due to the overcast and damp conditions here at Greens. Darn thought I was going have to get out in the mud and rain to get the generator out and start that up. Hmm, a new thing also, as so far I have not had to use it. I then remembered a conversation being had when I picked Miss Daisy up about running the car for a bit and it will charge the house batteries. Rang number 2 son to confirm as he was with me at the time, 'sure Mum that is what you do", so that is what I have done. Ran the car for about 3/4 hour and batteries all charged up again and I stayed warm and dry.
Isn't it great that we never get to know everything and we can still be amazed at what we learn.
Have a great day everyone.

Sure is Jimbo, and another new experience for me also. Have only ever been here in sunshine and warm weather.

Yep, the ol' run the engine trick. Pretty nifty way to recharge the batteries if you're not carrying a genny.

And you can have the heater on at the same time and if you have a heat exchanger can also heat up the hot water for a hot shower....
