From my knowledge, and street talk, the Honda 2 kva is really on 1600. ?And yes We have seen them run A/c. But I guess that it depends of the make and model of A/c.

I will second the motion from JayDee
It would be best to try it.
My Eu20i will run my Ibis A/C as long as nothing else is turned on eg battery charger, fridge(on electric), HWS, microwave. and the genny must not be on "Eco throttle"
hope that helps Neil

My chinsese Honda copy runs my box aircon and the charger , plus the 22inch tv.It was only $317 on Fleabay. Might not last as long, but the price was attractive. Bill

We went for the honda 3k. It runs the whole fifth wheeler with air con ect all going at once. Well worth the bit extra to have no worries at all. Great on fuel too.

I bought a cheap 2kva and would not run aircon. Just bought this one and it runs aircon with some power to spare.

My Honda EU 20 will run our 11 year old Dometic 3253 A/C in 45 degree heat as long as ALL other appliances including 240v Charger are OFF. It will run for 5 hours with ECO throttle OFF and A/C Thermostat set to nearly Max Cold with Fan on No.2 Speed. This stops the A/C from cycling Off and the internal temp was approx 28 to 32 degrees and was comfortable and a lot cooler than Ambient. I was happy with both units performance under these conditions.
Cheers Kev.

Yes our Honda runs our aircon in 42 deg C hot day,,, we had a heat wave in 2009 in SA and we were on Eyre Peninsula.
How many watts is your aircon rated at, as that will give you an idea.

The major problem running an Aircon from the smaller Generators,
is the start Current required,it is only required for a short time,
but this is often enough to stop dead the smaller generators.
the running current is usually a lot lower.

Well done Paul, that link really does work, top marks mate. Ive just used it to have a look at that genny. You know when there was very little opposition Honda probably was at the top for quality but now i doubt if it deserves the adulation that some heap on the brand. I've got a lot of stuff bought online (cheap) that has given me great service over a long period. The question i've got for you Paul about that genny is "is it really as quiet as they suggest 30db at 4 metres" if so you have just solved my genny problem for me, thanks!

I don't believe that any internal combustion engine will produce only 30dB(A) at 1 metre even on idle let alone under any load and this would lead me to question their other claims.

Will cost a few more pennies but...the Yamaha 2.4 leaves them all for dead.....technology wise they are far more advanced than the Honda's which traded on their reputation protected by their patient...... for years......10yrs later....its open slather.
