We are finally getting on he road, we have been told it is illegal to travel with your blinds up in your van, does anyone know if that is correct.
If it is ok, is it better with blinds up or down when travelling.
Thank for any info on this.

It wouldn't have been last Tuesday you were told this would it?
It is one of those things you can put in the "Ignore" basket.
If you have the new style double glazed windows with the roller blind and fly screen we were told to leave both rolled in. Really not sure why though.

I reckon if you travel with your blinds down they might make rub-marks at the side of your windows?

We were told the same thing when we collected our new van last March - ie: "Travel with the blinds retracted (up & down)"
That's fine until the weather warms up & then I'd rather be travelling with the block out blinds in the 'up' position.
Has anyone any realtime experience as to why, or what is the downside of that ?
Travelling with the blockout blind up would certainly help with caravan internal temperatures.

I know this is an old thread, but will respond anyway.
We have retractable blinds, and were told by the caravan manufacturer on pick up to close the blinds when closing up before hitting the road. The Reason: The van will stay cooler inside when you pull up at the end of the day. I also note that when I do my visual check outside the van before hitting the road, seeing the blinds "up" I can easily check the position of the catches to make sure the windows are all locked.
