I am currently in Penrith NSW and at this stage will be leaving tomorrow, Sunday. I am heading up the Pacific and Bruce highways, arriving in Townsville possibly Wednesday or Thursday.
With all the rain in the East I would realy appreciate any information on closed/flooded roads or the possibility of that during my travel time. I have checked the weather forecast and a couple of web sites and don't see any major drama at this stage but information from the locals and GN's is as always, invaluable and much appreciated.
I havn't got my passport with me so don't really want to end up over the ditch, although I could always call in for the famous scones and pav I haven't got my floaties either.

The roads are fine on the north coast Doug, infact most of yesterday was sunny..
and it looks like we are in for much the same today the BOM map is showing no cloud at all..
All highways are open ..just a bit of local flooding up around the Tweed but nothing that affects the Highway..
Are ya gunna stop and say G'Day when ya get to Grafton..

I'm at Maroochydore Doug, heading for Brisbane today. Still a little overcast, sun trying to shine thru, and looks like most of the rain has gone. Have no info on flooding in my immediate area.

You can send a bit of that rain over here Doug. Maybe if you did do a bit of a detour over here the said RAIN might just follow you.
The autumn rains are a far away as ever.
Pray your trip up to Townsville will be smooth and also hassle free once you get there. Brandt.
PS I start physio on my leg on Monday.

Hi Dougwe, check out the web site 131940.qld.gov.au for your Qld leg of your journey. There has been some road damage following our drenching around Rockhampton. Safe travels, cheers Colleen

Thanks everyone. I am packed and hooked up ready to hit the road early in the morning to escape a bit of traffic till I am on the Pacific Hwy/Motorway. Aiming for one of my favourite places, Byron Bay, Sunday night. Maybe just 1 night but maybe 2, who knows, I don't.

Yes Joe.
I had to leave them at a motel while staying at Mongrels for the week cos I didn't want him having a heart attack from seeing such beauty
I left this morning and picked the Nulla twins up on way through. We have made it to Byron Bay and they love the place, so much so we are staying a couple of days
