Howdy Cowboy 7307,
We have used the "Porta Potty" Brand, both the 365 and the 465 models over many years,
We prefer the plunger type of flush system as the pull up and down type seem to loose the suction after a couple of hundred strokes.
This brand is pretty reasonable in price and we have had no problems with their use.
Cheers K.J.

Hi Cowboy,
I have slow about replying, this morning one of my chores was to do the job, empty, clean.
Well it made me think a little, at first when I brought my portapottie I was looking at the larger one, things like it would not fit in the given space, then this morning when I lifted it I realized I am glad we use the small cap one, even half full you will notice the weight.
I do like to empty it when ever a chance come by, we only use it for number 1's but now would not be without our friend. Cheers

No reason why you could not split the unit in two and carry them separately....actually that's a good idea! My bro-in-law never puts water in the top tank - prefers to use a squirt bottle to do the flushing as he reckons he can direct the water stream where it's needed....lighter to carry/move the unit as well as the top tank is empty.
Re brands - ours is an el-cheapo @ $59 as is bro-in-law's....his is over 6 years old and he uses it full time.
Good Luck.

I agree definately the smaller one, it is easier to store and easier to empty we had the smaller one for years in our pop top ours was a Thetford and now we have the larger van we also have the larger canister and I use the tug to get to the dump point.

Trouble with the small ones is that they are much lower and the older you get the less you like to squat. The larger ones are the same height as a conventional toilet. You could use a stand to raise a small one however.

just come back from getting a thetford 145 ,thats the small one, and a small step to put it on in tent, lifts it to about 500mm at seat so hope that does the trick ,
