I purchased 2 from David's recommendation below and am amazed at the ease and quality of the sandwiches.
I have used bread, English muffins and pastry to make wonderful meals with no mess or grease.
Won't be using m,y jaffle iron anymore.

'Cuse me for being a bit 'thick' at the moment, but can't seem to find your reference of David's recommendation. Sounds interesting. And what makes it better than a jaffle iron??
Told you I am not having a good day - hence the dumb questions.

Looks to me to be a slightly redesigned Jaffle iron, cant see any obvious advantage over ther original Jaffle.
These are the things here https://www.google.com.au/?gfe_rd=ctrl&ei=6SIwU9ydB6yN8QeOo4HwAg&gws_rd=cr#q=diablo+sandwich+maker&tbm=shop&spd=0
I cant see any advantage over the original Jaffle iron.
I carry two Diablo which can be used on a two burner picnic stove.
Also keep two in the house kitchen.

Other than needing no butter, much lighter and quicker you're probably right.
No butter! heaven forbid, butter is an essential ingredient for a jaffle, gives it the outer crisp, crunch and flavour.
Butter makes it better, and better for you too http://chriskresser.com/the-diet-heart-myth-cholesterol-and-saturated-fat-are-not-the-enemy
Very hard to find Gary...............
