We have had an eventful week here at the Dam with 2 more families arriving, Billeee and Jules together with John and his wife Marjoleine (cruisin' cruse). Two visits to the hospital with Darrell's poisened toe needing emergency treatment and a trip to resulting. Then Roy came down with what we think was food poisoning and was taken by ambulance to Eidsvold Hospital but not until after a couple of days trying to get over it but the drip was needed in both cases. All seems to be well now for Roy, Rod and Billeee went up to the hospital last night to get him.
Darrell and Sandra are off today northwards to keep up with some happenings in Townsville early next month, they will be missed what with Sandra's cooking for happy hour, Darrell's expertise and ready help. We always have new neighbours but Glen and Michelle really have fitted in well taking advantage of the low dam levels to create a Boche area, on the first night I volunteered to have a game being up for anything and ended up winning.
Rod's new antenna has arrived and has been installed so we will see how that affects our internet reception. My antiflap bars and centre rafter have arrived and been installed with Darrell's help and he brought back from Bundaberg a new truck cranking battery to boost the driving side of the bus. He gave me an 80 watt folding solar panel surplus to his requirements and that also boosts up the cranking side.
Have been talking for some time about getting a better camera and now have ordered a Cannon from Ted's getting ready for more trips to gorges needing a good zoom to bring in the distances with more detail and will bring in the nuances of colour in the evenings landscapes.
Sounds like all is good in your world John. Glad the sickies are all good again. My love to Billeeeeee and Jules and of course to yourself. Keep up the good life and having fun.

You'll be right with that Canon, John... it's got everything you need to get great shots. And it took me a nano second to recognize who those two mermaids were having a dip in the dam. The unforgettable duo.

Hi Paul, I've come out from the dam today for an overnight stay, heading back tomorrow. It rained quite heavy most of the way to Hervey Bay.
If Sheba has given you the dog seat to bring out can you not bring it out as Jessie has gone to a new home with a young family where she will be cared for well. She did not like the travelling at all.
Thank you Sheba if you read this, was a great thought but not needed now.
Still raining heavy here in Hervey Bay.

That is a shame about Jessie, but not worth it if she does not travel well. Will you try another doggie?

Wondering how all are coping at Wuruma Dam if they are getting the rain that's covering this whole area. I've got as far as Gayndah after a quick trip back to Hervey Bay.
Heavy torrential rain most of the way, the parking area is slowly going under water but I found a higher spot which should be ok till morning.
If anyone hears from the GNs at Wuruma can you check if they are coming out or staying to brave the weather. Could be difficult to get up some of the dirt hills if they get too much rain. Also some of the road in could experience flash flooding.
I will head off in the morning and see what happens.

You take care Marj. Sent Paul a Text and an E-mail last night re. the dog seat. Haven't talked to him yet, but I think he would be better waiting 'till all this rain has gone before he leaves up here.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Yes I think that's a good idea Sheba. You never know how much we will get tomorrow.
Thanks Rod. Should be there tomorrow, if there's no flooding on the roads. Lots of flooding around Rocky, Yepoon I hear Sheba.

Still coming down in buckets here at the moment Marj. Roof is still leaking, so I'm not very happy right now.
If I remember rightly, I think they said on the radio this morning that Yeppoon had had 400 ml overnight, and as I said, it's still coming down. They don't want people using the Yeppoon-Rocky road, but nothing has been said about the Emu Park-Rocky road, so that one is probably still Ok.
I'm lucky, as I have about 4 different exit routes out from my place, so I can always get to Rocky somehow.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Read on Facebook before they are sandbagging the main street of Yepoon. Lots of streets have gone under.
Stay safe Sheba.
