Originally we were going to get bonded or clamp ring windows installed into our van but after days of looking and ringing suppliers we have found out that they do not make them for our model Ducato.
Now we are considering putting in M/H windows ( for want of a better name ), the ? I have is do these have to be engineered certificated or can we just cut out the hole and install.
I'm thinking that they would have to be certificated as we are cutting a hole into the van but I have been wrong on a lot of things before.

I believe that if you are only fitting into a spot designed by the manufacturer to have a window and you are having safety glass or perspex fitted then you won't need to have it certified..

I recently installed an extra window over the kitchen in my Grand Tourer. The window frame is every bit as solid as the frame to the van and as I fixed the window frame to the van frame, there is no lessening of the integrity of the sidewall.

Quick update,
Have found a really good engineer in Nabiac & after speaking to him now know that some do need to be certified.
The windows we will be buying are more than likely the aussie traveler windows & they are fine to install because they are already ADR approved, the issue is whether any support struts/rails in the van have to be removed.
If that is the case all work has to have an engineers certificate, we will be taking the Fiat down to him during the week so he can have a look at what we are doing & he can advise us along the way.
