We miss our cats when we go away but in most CP's we stay at the possums and birds are great company. The riverside CP in Rochester has amazing possums.
We're not yet full time travellers but when we are we're going to need little fury friends along the way.
Anyone have good experiences with our wildlife?

Before I got the Avan my late wife and I stayed at a caravan park just near the bridge no the Moama NSW side of the river in a cabin many many times. We would arrive at dark and there was always a welcoming committee of possums waiting our arrival. Very friendly little critters. We would have breakfast outside and would be visited by the possum family that sat on the table as if talking to us. I ended up talking to them, but don't tell anyone please.
We had some possums visit us in a caravan park in Mackay, Qld, they came down a tree near our caravan and took apple pieces very gently from our hands, their hands were so soft it was a real experience.
On the first night when about to have a shower, I went to turn the exhaust fan on and saw something
on the screen wire. When I poked it it moved and I nearly had a fit.
A redish color possum decided he liked the spot and wouldn't move until I sprayed him with water.
There were no trees in the area so I can only think he had travelled all the way down from Coloundra, over 120ks away.

Woken by emus boink boinking right beside the canvas in the camper trailer at 3am at a bush camp at Mt Remarkable, near the old ruins. Big woolly looking cold country emus.

Please, please, don't feed the wildlife everybody! It teaches them to become greedy and aggressive around camps where eventually for fear of an incident of a child being hurt or similar, the animals will be killed or relocated.
We left a dish of water out for a couple of kangaroos yesterday who were hanging about... they drank very gratefully. Does that count as feeding?

Yes it does. It encourages the animals not to be afraid of humans regardless of what you give them.....

Wombat's are cute, I also love to see live snake's out in the wild.
Dougwe, I will not tell anybody about you talking to the animals, but I will remember it for later down the track.
