Hi there,
Don't want to sound holier than thou type of thing but Engel is by far the best choice.
Many talk about digital this & digital that displays & auto thermostats etc etc etc but the old single dial with the freezing capacity these offer are the trouble free way to go.
Power useage is extraordinary & I can vouch for that.
They also sense the power source & select 240v when available, reverting to 12v automatically when not plugged in to mains. Also work well on generator.
The new plastic case 40 litre are now in the $700 range.
I travel with 2 of these last 14 months (one freezer) & can't fault them.
I've had steel & plastic case units for 30 + years including a stint at hiring to fellow travellers. Owned 8 all up & have never once had a repair done to any of them apart from outer case damage.
Treat ém rough, they love it. Spend the money, it'll pay in the long run.
No I'm not from the Engel shop before anyone asks.
All the best in the hunt for what suits you best.
Foz.
