Fuel on the Nullabor is around $2.20 per litre.

You are trying to cover far too much territory in 3 mths.
All you will see is the road as you will be driving all the time.

Have you got a copy of Camps Ausstralia Wide - Issue 7 is the current one. Plan your route - then ask about specific free camps -makes it easier to recommend or not. Lots of ground to cover in a limited time - doable, but a lot of driving.

great camps in WA - toilets, dumps etc and many being sealed. Would recommend the middle road via Port Hedland to Newman - more interesting to me than going round via Carnarvon - unless you want to be near the sea. If running out of time at Mt Magnet head for Leinster then Kalgoorlie - Norseman and home.

Don't take into account the cost of fuel across the Nullabor it will be very insignificant to the cost of the trip overall.
But you do seem to be travelling too great a distance in the time you have allocated, perhaps consider cutting out Queensland and travel up through the Centre even that trip will be a considerable distance in the time you have
Cheers

We are doing a similar trip, starting and ending in NSW, and we'll be travelling at least 8 months. Personally,I cant imagine how you could enjoy such a long distance in such a short time. Maybe try to find a way to shorten the distance by leaving out a part of the trip?.
As you will be driving most days your greatest expense will be fuel. Some places are dearer than others, but you gotta buy it anyway!
Sorry to be negative Fencer!

If you go to the Main Roads Dept wa web site also the DEC which is now called WA Parks and Recreation I think but type in DEC WA should still work. Look up on those sites to find all free and low cost camps sites they have. You will find many places to camp on these sites. Going north from Perth or Kal. Your rig should be OK for most of the camps.
Caravan parks can get booked out up there not just due to high season times but also due to the contractors working in the mines. So I would recommend booking head if you us CP's .
Karajini NP between Newman and Tom Price in the Pilbara is not to be missed. If looking to stay on the north coast I recommend Point Sampson. Interesting area but close your eyes traveling there from the turn of from Route1.
If you like the Ocean and some good beaches then the coast road going north is the go. Shark Bay and the Exmouth area will not disappoint.
Have a good trip
Cheers

Yep, I agree with the others - doing all that distance in such a short time you'll find that all you will see is the bitumen and towns on the highway. To make it worthwhile you need to take time to smell the roses, so as to speak - detour if there's an interesting looking sign, or something different, and free camp lots of times on the way.
