Well i have done it next year we are booked for the Indian pacific wow how exciting is that for us
has anyone done the gold Superiour cabin and what was it like
For us it will be an adventure of a life time as we will then hire a britz cruise around perth and head home to brissy across the wide open plane
We have a van and travell a fair bit but thought we would do some thing a bit differant as we have combined 3 things we want to do on our bucket list and do it as one trip while we still can
leaving next year in feb the count down is on

I did the "Gold" on the Ghan about 4 years ago. Great service. Enjoy your trip

Anyone doing 'one way trips' like this should be aware of sites like this...Motor Home Relocations
All the rental companies have similar deals whereby you pay a nominal fee, usually $1 per day and pay for fuel to return the vehicle to the required destination.
In some cases the company will provide $200 - $300 toward the fuel cost.
There are time limitations of course but they are generous enough for a direct trip home.
Cheers Neil

Margaret in August 1996 we drove Sydney to Adelaide then put the car on the Indian Pacific took the last two reclining chairs in coach and still enjoyed a magnificent journey to Perth. I am sure you will enjoy the trip.

I reckon 3 of the Great Train Trips would be 1) The Indian Pacific, either way. 2) The Ghan. 3) Rocky Mountains across Canada. Could really enjoy any or all of those 3.
