We were held up on a 4WD track (into Palm Valley) by a clown who had been carrying his outboard motor attached to the rear of his roof-rack. eventually on the rough road it parted company with the roof rack and hit the rear window amazingly without breaking it. Several other men on the track assisted him to load it on top of the roof rack safely. After 40 minutes we were all moving on again.

I made up a bracket and carry it on the A frame towbar of van. 15 HP $ stroke. been carrying it there for 8 years. No problem.

Thank you all for your input, I am leaning towards the bracket on the rear of the van, not much room on the draw bar.
Thanks again

Ours is going on the drawbar, having just had the van and towball weights done , we have room and can carry plenty of weight so our small motor can fit there snugly.
Question for all of you who have a rooftop boat.
Where do you carry your outboard motor??
What size is it.
I have had a bracket made up which fits to the rear bar of the caravan 9hp motot
