Yes I watched it as well how do they get away with it amazes me, those poor people that have lost so much money, hard to replace especially when you are on the pension.

Gday...
Unfortunately, I don't watch Current Affair .. or Today Tonight ... shows ...
Were these poor folk getting their van's repaired under an insurance claim? Or where they just taking their van to this bloke to have stuff fixed and he doesn't do it?
Surely, if the repairs were being done under an insurance claim, the insurance company would just select another repairer.
Cheers - John

Yep, saw the program just a few clicks ago,
That rip-off artist was pretty tight lipped with any answers,
I did hear him say, he was broke but he seemed to be living pretty well
in a flash house and a large Beer Fridge at the front of the garage full of booze.
I suppose once he did some work ,or rather partly demolished the Motorhomes they could not be moved,
and then he had the poor old Pensioners by the proverbial short and curly.
Surly their Insurance Companies could do something for them. ????

My understanding was that it did not have anything to do with insurance, but they paid him to do the internal fit out on their motorhome

Unfortunately, there are a lot of older people out there that still believe in honesty and trust.
Better these days to cynical as there a b*&^%$d's out there who can't wait to take any advantage of these good folk.
