This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling In St. Johns, Newfoundland .....
They actually have to divert the path of these things away from the oil rig by towing them with ships!
Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm and the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this picture.
They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons.
NOTE THIS PICTURE HAS BEEN RE-ENTERED, DO NOT REMOVE !!
THE TITANIC DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE!!!!

I didn't think anyone but the poster was able to edit a post - obviously not the case. Lesson for today.

I wonder if the creator of the pic has a timer on the image for copyright protection? I didn't think anyone could remove anything from another's post either, maybe gremlins at work?
I copied the pic on Hoaxslayer, Image credit: Ralph Clevenger who apparently made up a composite of a couple of pics etc.
I'll see if this works KJ and how long it will stay there;

Hoax or not, it looks awesome ........Why do some people try to spoil things? Even if it is a hoax, why do you have to burst the bubble...!!!!

It is a mighty fine image, even if it is a composite.
Now the weight 300 Million tons is equivalent to a cube of water 1km by 1km by 300m, since typical ice is 92% the weight of water, that would have to be a huge lump of ice.

Thanks for reproducing the Picture Vic41,
I was darn annoyed to say the least. about the fact that some ( Goodie Goodie )
was able to change my posting with out my permission,
If this is the case, there is nothing to stop anyone from changing some-ones
written statement to make it look very bad for the writer.
It maybe a good question for the Administrator to look at, as this sort of thing could
end up with a suite for liable being issued against the person who changed another's posting,
should it make them look as though they have defamed some-one else.
"Strewth" I was hoping there was no such thing as (Smart-arse correctness) on this forum,
I hope this is the end of it, It has ruined other forums in the past.
Sure, If a person has done the wrong thing, it should be straightened out but,
I think that is the job of the administration only
My annoyed thoughts only, have a "HAPPY DAY" Folks

I have re-entered the picture at the top of this post,
No thanks to the person who removed it.
I acknowledge the picture as being a fake but,
I'm sure every-one will agree it's an awesome picture.

If you are making a reference to me, Einstein, you are on the wrong track. The ONLY person, other than yourself who can edit a post, is the Moderator. I am not the Mod.

Hi All, Just a reminder to everyone to please keep posts friendly and respectful. We pride ourselves on having a welcoming and friendly forum and hope that everyone can refrain from getting personal. Also, just to clarify how the forum works, only the original poster and myself (as moderator) have the authority to edit member's posts. I am not sure how picture disappeared in the first message on this string but I can assure everyone that it must have been a technical glitch as no one else (besides the original poster and myself) could have removed it or re-inserted it.

What an amazing shot! I had a tooth removed that was a bit like that once (more bottom than top).... I agree about the Titanic, not a chance!!
Looks a bit like a dazzled wombat tooth I scraped off the wombat scoop earlier today
