hi all am leaving shell harbour on thursday for logan qld my question is do i travell the pacific or new england highway
i have to be home by saturday so that give me two stops
if we go pacific we will stop at p/maquire and then yamba
if we go new england we will stop at tamworth and stanthorpe
which is the better road i no there is 80 klm more going inland but that is nothing as long as the road is ok

Depends if you are towing, and what your rig is like, what your preferences are re driving etc.
In my book, I prefer the inland route.

I guess it doesn't really matter... going that fast you won't see much.

Go inland and have an overnight at Bendemeer free camp, also excellent meals at the pub which is only a short walk.

We travel from the Nowra area to Brisbane once or twice a year, always prefer the New England highway. The last time we tried the Pacific we found lots of roadworks and very heavy traffic.

I prefer the New England when travelling to Brisbane but it does have more hills, but less traffic, it is a slower road, about 50% of the Pacific is now freeway.
