we are heading to Darwin via a country music festival in Bundaberg late May. If we are there we will go but someone mentioned caravanitis in a previous thread....... we suffer from it so who knows

We went in 2012... Very Good...
Got to make my own didgeridoo (starting with a sawn off hollow branch of wooly-butt, leaves, twigs and-all attached). Nice sound too...
The didg competition was won by a young asian chap playing a length of plastic loo pipe...??
The Lady-Elders told some lovely dream stories around the campfire (helped by the kids and puppets)
The local kids put on a fanatastic Hip-Hop display...
There was a spear-throwing comp... impressive...
Plenty grub to buy...
The road in is "unique"...
You can camp - free - overnight - but no grog as Barunga is a dry community...
Small entry fee...
We recommend...
Anyone thinking of going to the Barunga Festival south of Katherine . Held over the June Long weekend
We went there last year on our trip from Sydney to Darwin. We intend to go this year again but will be flying to Darwin and hiring a campervan.
