Kiama and other towns in that area are often full, theres a high proportion of permanents in the caravan parks along that coast, doesn't leave much space for visitors. We live just south of there when we are home.

Shoalhaven Heads has several caravan parks and it's a lovely quiet village. The council oark on the river is very nice. We like it better than Kiama which is too yuppy for our taste.

It's a busy little place alright...I have my holiday home at Kiama Downs and spend half my 'home' time there, the problem is it is so close to Sydney and Wollongong and is a beautiful town that offers almost everything, except that is...service stations, for some unknown reason, there is only a little half hearted excuse for one some distance from the town centre, so have plenty of fuel when you get there.
all accommodation in kiama is booked out due to
kiama sevens rugby tournament yearly event
48 teams local and overseas plus spectators
