Yes. And the thought of her profiting from any interviews will enrage me to the max.

Why does the media insist on glorifying convicted criminals.

The press keep saying this case has all of Australia captured wanting to know what is happening and it has been the biggest story since Ned Kelly. The only thing I can say it has been the biggest amount of enthusiasm by the press since Ned Kelly to ramp up a story that should have disappeared five years ago. Most people are fed up with news on TV being taken up by Australians overseas doing the wrong thing and getting caught. If these people didn't get caught they would be living a very good life style from their illegal gains.Peter.

Because it sells, the media no longer attempts to be our ethical conscience, there's no money in that.
Just take a look at all the ferals who appear on the plethora of reality shows, cheap to make and plenty of takers willing to sell themselves short (or maybe not?) for a moment or two of fame, if you can call it that.

Commercial television aims at the lowest common denominator viewer, that's why soapies, USA shows and the plethora of reality tv shows make them money. Because they so easily sucked in, they can advertise any sort of junk they want and the suckers will buy it.
The Corby things is just an extension of that and I don't see why anyone with a decent mind would blame her for this circus, all she wants is to get out of jail. Plus holier than thou attitudes only reflect how inadequate some are. In the majority of cases for people being in jail, the only difference between them and those on the street, is they got caught.
I defy anyone to claim they have never committed a crime of any sort. I feel very sad for Michelle, because she has to go through this circus. Doubt anyone here would know or understand the trauma associated with being released on parole and knowing if you step out of line just one fraction, you can go back, even if it is not your fault. In Indonesia, with this ladies case, they will be ready to pounce and the media attention puts her parole freedom at risk. Some of the conditions, requires her to be moderate, modest and not cause disturbance.
After all it is her family who have organised all this, not her. She has no say in anything and more than likely would much prefer to disappear from view for a long time, to get over what she has been through. Irrelevant to her guilt or innocence.

My feeling is if she "tells all" to a magazine or TV show and expects to live in Bali she is a very naive young woman. If she is guilty 9 yrs in a Bali prison is enough I think and surely she knows by now that going public on the Indonesian government is certainly a very unhealthy thing to do. The next thing they will be investigating is her disappearance..... Id be divorcing my family as soon as I could to. Having mum on your side is like having 6 men short as my farther in law used to say.
As far as the Australian public hanging on every interview!!!!!!!! I must not be an Australian.
I wish her no harm but I think there are far more important and tragic things happening in the world that we should hear about.
Just saying......

That's the trouble with people today, they all want to rest on their laurels and let someone else do the work.

She has to be very careful what she says in an interview as she could very easily end up back in prison to serve out her sentence. As you say the average Aussie isn't interested, it is the old "She'll be right Mate" syndrome.

She is a drug runner as are the rest of her family. She should have been hung (IMHO) as were the Barlows then she would have been forgotten now.
Hundreds of people are released from prison every day, why the attention on her?
I wish NOBODY would watch the programs the blood sucking media are paying, maybe they would learn then.

Good summary of the whole situation in The West Australian newspaper Tuesday.
Cartoonist Dean Alston draws Mercedes and Chapelle in their luxury kitchen.
Mercedes is asking: "What would you like, Sis?"
Chapelle: "I could murder a joint."
Cheers, Tony
