Hi, Does anyone know what the caravan parks are like in Casino? Also, has anyone stayed at the showgrounds? Thanks everyone.

We have stayed at one in Casino a couple of times, depends which way you are coming in from, but it is probably on the south east side of the town, just a small one, but reasonable pricing.
Haven't been to the showgrounds there, why not go to the "free/budget campspots" sub forum on here and put Casino in the search engine - might be a start - the one which the CMCA started is now a Big 4, from what I have read.

These days I stay at the Glen Villa CP. I can't remember just how much I last paid but I do remember that it was good value for money. Not too far from the town and right across the road from the cheapest fuel in town. I say' these days' because I used to stay at the Casino Village but I haven't stayed there since Big4 took it over and put the prices up.

nomadic1 - I think that is the one we stay in - I remember the fuel pricing there was excellent.

there is a really well maintained free camp on the highway between Casino and Grafton near Ellangowan - depends I guess on how long you want to stay, ie. overnight or a few days/weeks. Has toilets, mobile and wifi reception and dog friendly. Have not stayed there, but living locally, we have driven past on numerous occasions and always impressed by the place.

Just spent four months in Casino, mostly for work. Stayed at the Big 4. Good value for money, but no deals for weekly stays. Plenty of room, good facilities and pool. Big draw back, absolutely no shade. Stayed there a few years ago, and it was packed, however since Big 4 has taken over, doesn't seem that well patronised. About $27 a night is the cheapest.

We stayed at the CMCA (Big 4) CP a few months ago. About $22 pn with discount. Large sites but not a lot of shade. Great camp kitchen and they hold happy hour there as well.
