And no wonder. There I was going down the highway doing 85 in a 90 zone, feeling very relaxed as I listened to some nice music when I started to feel faint. So I immediately started to slow down but before I was completely stopped it was like a dark curtain came cross & I couldn't see anything. I don't think I blacked out completely as I could still think. I couldn't pull off the road as I couldn't see what the verge was like so I just stopped in the left lane. Cars pulled out from behind me & just kept going. My vision gradually cleared & I was able to continue on but I realised I still wasn't completely ok so I flagged down a car & lovely helpful couple stopped. He drove my car & I went with his wife in theirs & they took me to the local ambulance & then eventually to hospital. We're still not sure of the cause but probably heart beat getting out of kilter. I don't think I lost consciousness completely more of greyout than a blackout. Anyway I have an appointment with cardiologist on Thursday. Could be I will need a pacemaker. I'm banned from driving until all sorted out. Cheers Alice

What a wonderful Guardian Angel you have, to look after you through all that, and find a nice couple to help you as well.
Goodonya Angel! Keep up the good work!!

Thanks Gerty. They'll have to put me in handcuffs & leg irons to stop me going on the cruise. Hopefully all will be sorted out by 13/4. Cheers Alice

That's funny I've had a few turns like that too, years ago but not recent.
Nowadays I get these awful palpitations.
Good luck Alice hope it's not serious.

Alice - a pacemaker is an amazing thing - my mother in law had one for many years - and was fine - older than you too!!!!
You must surely have a guardian angel - saved you twice now!!!! Take care, do what they docs tell you - you will get on the cruise for sure!!!!!
And enjoy every minute of it, I am sure!! Take care, you and Keith.

They will have you off the road for 2 weeks & the same for not lifting your arms. After that you are good to go. PS I was in more than a little trouble & had a pacemaker implanted a little while ago, they operated on me on Saturday night & I was discharged on Monday mid-day. So far happy ever after, all's good.

My father had a pacemaker fitted a couple of years ago after a "funny turn" in the garden. In and out of hospital within 3 days and no problems since. He wasn't allowed to drive for 6 weeks though. You should be good by April.
Best wishes, Robert

Thanks everyone for good wishes. Also thanks John for books. At the moment I have my 17 year old grand daughter (who has had her licence 6 weeks) as chauffeur. Poor Keith is up at Dickabram Bridge alone. I am down in Maroochydore with daughter. I guess all will sort out. Cheers Alice
