We've had several tables over the years, and they've all been superseded for some reason or other. Too high, too low, too small, or it broke, but mostly too unstable. Its hard to pull your chair up to a table without knocking it and spilling your wine!!!
We're looking for a table and chair combo where you can actually eat your meal sitting at the table. Advice please????

goodness gracious me!!!! What on earth did you mean "spilling the wine" No definitely not!!! I can feel myself going into an uncontrollable panic!!! get a wooden one and nail the glass/goblet/44gallon drum to the table!!!!
Perhaps himself can build a neat little wooden one with special places to hold wine goblets, there must be a solution to this problem......we can't have spilt wine!!!!
cheers capricorn

Gday...
I have tried a few over the years. At the moment I am using one like this. Bought at Aussie Disposals for about $69.
Lower portion of each leg unscrews, upper portion of legs fold up under the table, table folds in half, little clips to keep it all together. Light and stores easily.
Is very stable (for a light table).
Cheers - John

Couldn't get the photo to load for me Gerty - but it was a coleman one - you can google them.
We have one like John's (RL) - with the bottom part of the legs off it makes a great coffee table for happy hour!! The top of ours is warped from being left out in the weather. Very stable as coffee table, but not so much when as a table. The Coleman ones I was looking at look pretty stable - they don't fold in the middle.

Gerty!!! Spill wine???? I never do this even if it is pensioner piss.!!! Cheers. Bill
A cask with an intravenous drip works well, still can eat at the table with a knife & fork, for awhile anyway.

Capricorn, I have seen your drinking apparatus and I like your hat that looks like 10 ltr mug with tube going directly into you mouth. Now I'm not sure what wombat meant when he said to me about the mug but something about another mug, of course I said what was he doing there?? . That leaves your hands free to eat all those spuds so don't need a table.

Well, actually our table is so old that my other half can't even find a brand name on it, we bought it at the C and C Show at Rosehill about 17 or so years ago ( has it been going that long?) well we bought it at the show a long long time ago! Its great redeeming feature is that the legs are telescopic and the whole thing folds flat which makes Pisces very happy when packing everything and the kitchen sink in the back of the Prado! and it holds wine glasses and bottles steady as can be, and sometimes we eat off it too!
cheers Capricorn

I got tired of trying to find a decent table, so made a couple of these for myself, and then ended up making some for the rellies and friends.
Folds up to almost nothing, no assembling bits and pieces, has a carry handle, weighs just 3Kg, Holds a decent sized setting, is very stable, and you can sit with your legs underneath it.

Oh Brian that is lovely!! will get Mr Dancer on to it straight away!!!
And following C & P's advice, he could apply Steppe's solution for the wine glasses too.
Maybe later, it will take so long to make along with all the other jobs I have lined up for him, we might be still here all year.

We use one of these, folds in half, 3 position adjustable height legs and very stable.
Currently $49 at Rays Outdoor.
A night or 2 of free camping pays for these things.
