No mention by anyone of the new Jayco Journey or Silverline. I have inspected these and they seem very impressive units.
Am looking seriously at the Journey 17.55-9 Outback Poptop with independent suspension. Have plenty of time on my hands as we've no plans until the end of the year. Anyone want to take up this thread positively or otherwise.
The RRP of these new models have increased considerably.

Not much info on their Website yet, I guess their dealers still have stock of old models.
The Mildura reseller has listed some details of the new ranges and they appear to be a significant improvement for sure.

Check to see whether the interior fittings are reinforced in that "Outback Pop-top with Independent suspension". We have a Jayco Outback pop-top with independent suspension and yet the internal fittings are just standard and the warranty would be voided if we damaged it on a road with "extended corrugations". Yes they look nice, and the after-sales service is good, they are well priced, and great for short distances of gravel road into national parks etc, but we cant take ours on real Australian dirt roads they are all corrugated and it would shake to bits.

Did any one else notice the shower door? Does it slide out with no support towards the door opening or does it open against the basin cupboard? If it opens inwards how do you open it if someone falls in the shower?

Have seen the new silverline and was impressed. Quite like the dark timber finish.

Good morning, the shower door does open out plenty of room to get in but it hits the basin

Hi there - We purchased a Journey in Ballarat in August last year and picked it up in early December. We were assured by the Ballarat people that a proper inspection would be done before we picked it up but that was never done and we did have too many things that had to be rectified. On the way home to SA we found that they had not even checked the spare - which was flat. One jack did not work and a list of 14 things has been attended to since. The van is going in for the last "fix" this month at Gawler.
Ballarats attitude was that its not our problem - you sort it out. I have heard that the Mildura Jayco guy is great,
To anyone who has an on road Journey such as ours please check your jacks. On level ground we could not drop them in a vertical position. We first thought that ours had the off road jacks as they were too long but were told by Jayco that they were correct. They were so long that even wound up full - If they came undone while you were driving they would hit the ground.
Jayco would not correct them but while we were in Cairns the local Jayco guys cut 65mmm off each one and they are now great. The Cairns guys did it free of charge as they agreed they were dangerous. Also in the long state it meant that they were always jacked up on an extreme angle thus putting greater pressure on the locking pins and in two cases bending them.
Overall we love our Journey and have since installed a 12v point on the outside and a 12v/usb double point next to the bed for charging phones etc. The LED light in the Awning is the greatest.
