OK, I realise this is a pretty informal forum, but in the interest of people actually trying to find answers for their particular conundrum, wouldn't it be better if someone wants to digress from the OP's topic, to start their own topic and maybe make a reference to it, if it is actually helpfull to the OP's original topic. I'm not really so bl**dy pedantic in any other section of the forum, but this is the tech forum and should have a bit of order.
Or did I post this in the wrong section and am guilty as well?

As I see it mate once an OP's problem is solved by those interested in the subject and the thread moves on amongst the interested parties then that makes for interesting conversation...
If anyone was following the the said thread then they also would have learned....
Once you start a thread then you get everyone and their dog looking at it without having any interest in the subject and absolutely on idea why the thread was started..
I my mind it is better to allow a thread to reach it's own conclusion and then move onto the next thread..
For instance the thread that just got up your nose was one that only 3 or 4 of us were interested in enough to follow it

ditto Bob.
and I also think that this topic would have been better in the general one as I think more members look in there than the other ones, having said that it is after all your topic (03_troopy) and you can post it where ever you want IMHO.

I posted it here because I was referring to topics in the techies forum. The other forums have become pretty much extensions of the I Digress forums anyway.

I reckon you posted in the correct sub forum 03Troopy - you said it didn't matter to you in other forums, and you were only talking about the Tech Section.

This last reply is off topic on this thread. Steve has posed the question in the general forum so post all replies in that thread.

I agree 100%,,, often takes so long to help someone, when so much is off topic
