Don't know if I'm in the correct section here but here goes. I've purchased a van cover a prestige I think, but I'm now worried that I will need to cut a section out of the roof to avoid covering the solar panel. I am mainly concerned that if I cover the solar panel the onboard battery won't be kept charged. So I am now thinking that if I cut a hole in the cover it will defeat the purpose of having it if it lets water etc in. I am toying with sewing a piece of heavy duty clear plastic in to it. Any ideas or suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I have a friend with a van which is part time use and he has a van cover over his solar panels and his battery still charges through the cover. Suggest that you put it on and check first before you go to that extra expense of retro fitting a clear panel. My friend was surprised. I might add that he does keep it attached to a trickle charger attached as well but the solar side still works.

Is it a heavy cover with a panel in it or is it a very light cover that lets the light in..
I would be good when you post a reply to give us a little more info than you got it off Feebay..
