For anyone requiring a caravan park for the Yornaning Dam GTG (before or after?) I can recommend the Laze Away Caravan Park at Popanyinning (just south of the store/po at Popanyinning), approx. 10 kms north of Yornaning Dam on the Gt Southern Highway. We are going to stay there and do a daily commute to the GTG.
This is a working farm and the CP is run by the farmer's wife. Powered sites $25, Dogs allowed, note though no mobile or internet coverage. Nice clean ablution block and great owners. See;
Sounds good Neil, we'll sort out the time/day when we get down there Neil and work it out then. We had a meal there years ago under the previous management and it was one of the best we've had, hope it is still the same.

I'd love to go for the pub lunch but may have to forego it if we bring young Buddy with us.
Buddy is our baby (a little Jack Russell) and has been very sick these last 18 months since he had a kidney removed. If he's OK to travel and we feel he won't be nuisance to others we'll bring him to the Get Together but won't make the pub lunch. If he's not fit, Kathy will stay at home with him and I'll make the pub lunch. We don't want to leave him in a kennel at this stage.
There you go, a long story just to say we may or may not attend the lunch.

Lunch is only an option Bryan, so will be pleased to see you both and Buddy there also if he can travel. Maybe if you do someone who is not going to the lunch could keep an eye on him for you. I hope he recovers from his kidney removal, I have had one removed too but don't know much about how it effects dogs, I wouldn't even know I've only got one kidney now.

Bryan, don't give up on the pub meal. WE don not plan to go out to eat. We would be more than happy to look after Buddy for you. (We are currently baby sitting two elderly dachunds, and a extremely fussy Welsh Terrior. Our next house-sit after yornanning is for two jack russels, so it will be good practice for us.

The kidney op was 18 months ago Vic but with numerous back and forth for tests to check on the progress of the cancer has left him highly traumatised. He normally stays over at my son's when Kathy and I travel but he still has some pain (he's currently on tramadol again) and Kathy is very protective.

I hope he recovers soon Bryan, that Tramadol is pretty powerful stuff, he must be in a lot of pain.
It took me about 12 months to get over mine (just kidney removal, not cancer), they started me on Morphine and just when I was starting to like it they put me on Tramadol instead, but only for awhile, then told just to take panadol.
Whatever happens it will be great to see any of you there including Buddy if you can make.
That's a very kind offer Dunmowin's, aren't GN's great people!

Menu for Cuballing Hotel (about 10kms south of Yornaning Dam) if members wish to have a meal or group meal there.
ORDERS PLEASE: (If you change your mind about what you are having let me know by Thursday 30th January please)
Looks like most will be there at least by Sunday or earlier, so for those who are interested suggest a lunch (so we don't have to drive in the dark (roo's etc) at Cuballing Hotel Lunchtime on Sunday.
Could you all look at the menu please and let me know what you will be having as I will have to ring it through before I leave home as I may have trouble with phone access from the Dam. The pub said if we have a few they would like some notice as to meals etc.
Delta 18 suggested taking orders for anyone wanting take aways to be brought back to the Dam so if anyone does want at take away please let me know about them too, we will order them just before we leave so they will be hot by the time we get them back, would have to be a late lunch though as we need to eat ours first before we leave.
Neil: Pub 1. Fishermens Basket & Take Away Fish & Chips
Vic & Carol: Probably 1 x Battered Fish and vege's and 1 x Wedges and Dip.

For info of others, Yornaning Dam turn off is on the Gt Southern Highway, Between Pingelly and Narrogin and between these two points half way between Popanyinning and Cuballing (10 kms from each).
