We're on the thir day of our first trip and stayed at aAlstonville the first night, wwhich was lovely and Kempsey last night, which was not. WWe'vehad a sslight change of plans, Russell's uncle died llast night, so we need to stay closer to aAlbury for the next few days. Does anyone have a suggestion of somewhere nice, economical or free and not too bloody hot, within 2-4 hours of Albury?
Thnks in advance.

Jingellic , 1.5 hrs from Albury , on the Murray River , I think it's free and safe. Coming from Sydney , turn left at Holbrook ,about 45 k.
Cheers Hans.

Albury RSL Club (S.S.A Services club) has 'free' camping for 48 hours. Toilets, shower. Must join the club - $7.

There is a nice free camping spot at Gunning. Toilet, showers and a nice aspect.

Thanks a lot guys. We ended up stopping at Gosford as we were both too sore to keep driving. My Dr faxed pain killers, so we should be able to cope with the big drive to Albury tomorrow as the funeral is 10am Friday.
Thanks again for the advice.

Holbrook Caravan park is really good. Clean, neat, wonderful people run it or used to. The problem we had was the trucks and engine brakes coming into town or the trucks gearing up leaving town. All bloody night. That is no longer a problem as it is now bypassed. Haven't been there since it was finished. It didn't appear to be to far from town but Holbrook is still a lovely place.
Albury also has a really good Caravan Park right in town and once again because of the bypass, truck noise is not a problem.
