Yes Dennis, at Wallaroo last April May. We left 'Folsom' at a storage facility in W. hopped on the ferry to Lucky Bay on the Eyre Pen and cycled the Eyre for three and half weeks. Had a great trip.
Then we drove south out of Wallaroo and toured around the peninsula. I would recommend Tiparra rocks just north of Balgowan, the road is a little rough but well worth it we parked on the beach and stayed for 8 days.
Plenty of free spots in the area.
We intend to tour that region again starting mid March.
I don't think you will be disappointing.

We live at Moonta John, about 14 k's from Wallaroo.
Wallaroo is a nice little port town, great beaches, long jetty and good fishing and crabbing.
Moonta is well worth a visit, historic mining area and lots of interesting shops, good beaches at Moonta Bay and Port Hughes.
Just be aware it's will be as hot as hell here over the next couple of days, 43 forecast today & 39 tomorrow, of course not just here, its hot everywhere at the moment.
Enjoy your stay.

Thank you for the information, it is a lovely spot, better yesterday down at the beach, in the nice cool water, when the temperature was very very hot, enjoy your travels
