You can turn Pop Ups off in Internet Options in Internet Explorer. Are you using Internet Explorer and are you using Windows ? If yes, windows XP; Vista or the latest Windows 7 or 8 ?

Hello Ken
I am using google and my facebook and favourites columns and the blockup was on medium so I went to high and will see what happens
Ken
The only place I get popups is when I open the Vic Fire Info site.
Not getting them anywhere else. No green writing and no surveys.

he uses Linux and a search engine called lxquick, so is irrelevant to your problem I'm afraid.

I had this problem for the last week or so.
Re installed Firefox .. no good
Changed my browser to Google Chrome .. no good.
Went through the process of telling browsers to block pop ups .. ... no good.
Found that the source was Lyricsay ...
Switched Lyricsay adds to 'OFF' ... no good
So I went to the control panel & uninstalled Lyricsay .... FIXED!!!
The problem now is .. Do I stay with Google Chrome or go back to good old Firefox?

Stay with what you're comfortable with. I use both Chrome and firefox browsers and both seem to be better than IE of whatever breed. It seems like the Lyricsay is a problem though and plenty of references when you google "Lyricsay popups"

Bing, Google, just more search engines. There are plenty of others out there too, or sites that offer your choice in preference of a multitude of engines on the one page. Having said that however, keeping track of what devious methods any of them employ to serve up the most appropriate answers to your searches can be a bit of a worry.

This is a very handy program increases your privacy and blocks tracking it becomes an add on to your browser.
It shows you, who is attempting to track you and blocks them if not legit
If you block popups there may be a chance the popup window that is needed when you do banking at some sites might not come up too.

With Internet Explorer you can turn off Pop Ups but allow certain sites to use Pop Ups, such as your Bank. With my Bank, a little window pops up across the bottom of the screen asking if you will allow pop ups for this site. It also gives Options. Allow once or always allow. This is for Internet Explorer and I am not familiar with other operating systems although I do have Google Chrome which I use occasionally...

G'Day Ken
what browser are you using ?
If you use Mozilla Firefox try this
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/.../adblock-plus-pop-up-addon/
I'm sure it will help you a lot
