There is no shortage of rest stops along the way and also there is little Italy just a little south of Woodburn..there is a camping spot on the northern side of the driveway..

I've always found New Italy a good rest area to stay overnight. There are quite a few Rest Areas along the M1. I don't know of any free camps other than a State Forest south of Kempsey.

Thanks guys. Ended up at Alstonville show ground. Not bad here, cute little town. Being our first trip, we were hoping to be inundated with G'day, sadly no... But I'm sure we'll find some brains to pick soon. Thanks for the advice.

I often go over to Motorhomers, Campervanners particularly and ask about their vehicle, pros and cons. People are usually very forthcoming and friendly.

Don't hold your breath on that subject! It seems to be based on what 'rig' you're in.......
And I thought snobbery/class barriers was a thing of the past!
