Van has been stationary for 3 weeks. Pulled out today and heard loud clankin noise underneath. cannot see anything loose. Before wd go to a caravan outlet and spend a fortune, thougt I would ask if any one has had this experience. Thanks

It may seam obvious, but did you have a wheel lock installed, and did you remove it?

Clank could be a loose bit or if from the axle area, a bearing. You might need to get the cook to walk alongside while you drive SLOWLY forward to isolate the problem. Sounds like a good excuse to spend another week in the area.

What about jacking the Wheels up (Handbrake Off) Spin each wheel listen for loose Brake Magnet or levers. Hold the tyre edges and wiggle testing for stuffed bearings.
I had a noise about six months ago. The badly flogged out Brake magnet, had come off its actuating arm.

Is your wearing parts of your WDH lubricated?
When Tug is straight ahead of your van are the chains on your WDH vertical?

Thank you for your help.
It seems it was lubrication that was needed. Van was standing, for 10 months in the heat seems springs were dried out. No longer clanging just a bit squeeky.. now i need lubricating cheers.
