We are moving to Australia and need to get sorted with out caravan and towing vehicle very quickly once arrived. Does anyone know if there is a site or a place where people sell their complete rigs once they have finished travelling?

Dunno about a Tug and van but I have a nice little 7mtr 2000 Hino Ranger wide bodied Bus for sale all fitted out and ready to travel so long as you have the equivalent of a Light Rigid drivers licence..
One place is right here in the for sale section of the forum.

there are a couple places in adelaide that sell complete setups. Caravan agents (port wakefield road I think) and the other is aussie by design who when I was there the other day had to extraveller rigs for sale. Otherwise bob could be a good option as from what i see on here he builds a few and seems to have some good ideas. ( Ive stolen some haha). On another note though I would suggest you think about what you want, everyone as a different idea of a good rig but the journeys are worth it.

Different states have different suburbs in the Citys where the Caravans, M/H's, Etc, are located in one place,
If you say which state or city you are going to, It would narrow the field down a bit,
Its a big country, east to west, 3000 miles, north to south, 3000 miles,

Hi and Welcome Beverly..
What ever you decide on make sure that you have the Caravan/tug all checked over by someone that knows what they are looking at..
If What I read on another forum is Correct, there are Van's being sold that Would cost you More money to get fixed than they are worth.. - IF they have been overloaded they could have hidden fault's that a Normal Person will know what to look for.. - Fatigue Cracking [Covered By Fresh/old Paint] - Leaking seals which allow for Rot to get into the wall's/floors.. - Bent Chassis.. - Under strength A frame's..
The first site, caravan & camping sales is the most popular, and there are more dealer adds on this site. The last one is the newest and has a bit of a reputation for scamming, but I suspect the problems are probably a very small percentage.
Sellers on all of the sites will be suspicious of a contact from overseas as we see many scams from OS with promises to buy site unseene etc, so please do not be put off by the skepticism that you are sure to experience.
It is relatively rare to see a tug and caravan combination for sale, it is however more common to see 5th Wheeler and tug combinations.
Be aware if you need to put a rig together the towing limits of European vehicles on sale in Australia is typically lower than in Europe. Australian towing weights can be checked in the following site:
SnowT's advice about having any prospective purchase checked out is good advice, again it is probably a very small percentage of sales present problems, but it would be terrible to spend your hard earned and be one of the very few.
If you could find a suitable unit in the classifieds on this site then it would be more trustworthy, and it would probably be known by other members of the forum, just ask for references you can PM.
I hope this helps you solve your dilema.

Thanks for all your help everyone, this is really useful. In the UK we get vehicles checked by the AA or RAC before we buy, what is the equivalent organisation in Australia?

Hi Beverley, the equivalent motoring organisations are state based on Australia, so to have the tow vehicle checked you would probably use:
NSW - NRMA (NSW Roads and Motoring Assosciation)
VIC - RACV (Royal Auto Club Victoria)
QLD - RACQ
Not sure about WA or SA, but I suspect someone else will fill in the blanks.
I am not sure if they offer van inspections, and I do not know who does.
